Pairing your charge point
There are a few ways you can perform the initial pairing of your charge point.
Note
Note you only need to pair your device once. After that you can just use the RSP app to simply start/stop or schedule your charging session as per the instructions below.
Initial pairing of your charge point
The easiest way is to scan the QR code on the front of the charge point, but if you don't have access to a phone with QR scanning capability, we provide an alternate method using the charge point ID code, printed under the QR code on the charge point.

Charge point with QR code and pairing ID (1234ABCD5-1)
- Point your phone camera the QR code on the front of the charge point
- You will be taken to the RSP sign up screen where you can create a new account using your email address or an existing Google account if you prefer.
- Once you have finished signing up, the system will remember the charge point ID you just scanned and assign it to your account.
- If you have multiple charge points and want to add another, just scan the QR code or use the "Manage Charge Points" menu item (refer image below).
- Visit https://app.readysteadyplug.com

Removing a charge point
If you want to remove the charge point from your account for any reason, Tap the "x" under Action to remove a charge point. Note you will no longer be able to start a charging session until you re-pair. If you want to re-add it into your account, just follow the pairing process again, as described above.
Charge Point FAQ's
FAQ - Can someone pair my charge point without me knowing?
No one can pair with or unpair the CP while it is linked to your account. If you wish to unpair it, you can do so as described above. Once removed, someone else – such as a visitor or other tenant – can pair the CP using their own account and credit card. When you want to use the CP again after unpairing it, just follow the pairing instructions above.
FAQ - Can someone use my charge point without my authorisation?
There’s no need to worry about anyone using your charge point without your authorisation. You can switch it OFF whenever it’s not in use, and in any case, it will automatically turn OFF after one hour of inactivity.
FAQ - Can I share my charge point with my neighbour?
This is a feature under development in beta phase. If this is something you would like to trial, please email us at support@readysteadyplug.com, with the subject line: "Shared charge point beta tester".
Charge point ratings and charging speeds
The RSP Charge Point is designed for a Level 1 EV charger rated at up to 15 Amps. This is the equivalent of up to 3.6kW. Note that many cars only come with an 8A charger (nominally 1.9kW).
Setting up billing details
To start a charge session, tap "Card Details" from the left hand navigation.

Add credit card details
At the end of the process your credit card is charged $20, which will be your initial balance. This is also the amount that the system automatically charges your credit card once the balance goes below $5 (similar to how E-Toll or Opal cards work.)
Billing FAQ's
FAQ - Can I get a refund if I stop using the system?
If you decide to stop using the solution and would like the remaining balance in your account returned, please select “Remove Card” in the “Card Details” view.
FAQ - Can I switch to a different credit card?
Yes, please select “Remove Card” in the “Card Details” view. Then proceed to add a new card as described above.

Energy Usage FAQ's
FAQ - The RSP app charging session kWh doesn't match what my car reports. Why is that?
There may be a difference in the energy delivered as reported by RSP vs the energy received as reported by your car. This is due to the fact that there are losses in the car charger components, namely the L1 charger plugged into the wall outlet and also the onboard charging circuitry within the car. This will result in a slightly higher figure reported by the RSP app than what the car reports. Both figures are correct, it just reflects the different measurement positions.
